Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the sacraments of Christian initiation. The reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. By the sacrament of confirmation, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit.

QUALIFICATIONS
The youth Confirmation program is open to all baptized Catholic students who are at least 16 years of age.
THE PROGRAM
Approximately eight months of classes during which, the confirmation candidates study Hebrew and Christian scriptures, discuss what it means to be confirmed a Catholic Christian and what is asked of Catholic Christians in terms of worship and living the Christian life. Candidates attend a weekend away retreat and an overnight retreat at the parish site aimed at helping the candidates to deepen their Catholic Christian faith. In addition, each candidate is required to attend the St Jerome's Advent and Lenten missions and complete a number of service hours. The program, offered every other year, begins in September and concludes in May. Classes meet every other week on Sundays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
