MISSION
Baptism empowers all Christians to act with the compassion of Jesus Christ and the Justice of our Lord God. The Social Justice Ministry Coordinating Committee of St. Jerome Catholic Church seeks to develop a vision to respond to those in need and to advocate Judeo-Christian justice in our society. We invite each and every member of the parish family to bring their gifts and ideas to this ministry and to explore further opportunities for action.
PURPOSE AND INTENT
Working in coordination with the pastor, the Social Justice Committee:
-
Oversees the utilization of parish resources in support of outreach programs, including the allocation of funds set aside for this purpose;
-
Conducts parish-wide activities to inform and to provide opportunities to implement Catholic social justice teaching;
-
Explores joint activities with local parishes to advocate for social justice;
-
Encourages participation in local community organizing to foster social justice values in the extended community.
