St. Jerome Church
My Story
I arrived in the US from Vietnam in 2003, thanks to my parents' support. I began my journey with the Diocese of Oakland, studying Philosophy at Mount Angel Seminary from 2006 to 2009, and then Theology at St. Patrick’s Seminary from 2009 to 2014. I was ordained as a priest by Bishop Michael Barber in May 2014, and my first assignment was with the Catholic Community of Pleasanton from 2014 to 2017. I then served at St. Joseph in Fremont (Mission San Jose) from 2017 to 2019, followed by two years at St. Anthony/Mary Help of Christians in Oakland. Over these seven years, I have cherished the joys and challenges of being a priest. Now, I am excited to be with you at St. Jerome and look forward to getting to each of you. I am grateful to God for the privilege of walking alongside you in our journey of faith, hope, and love. May God bless us and unite us as One Body of Christ. Thank you for your warm welcome. – Father Michael
